Gas Compressors

Kobe Steel, Ltd is the only company in the world to manufacture all three types of compressors – screw, centrifugal and reciprocating. Kobel Steel has been doing its best to satisfy the demands for gas compressors, which boasts not only of high quality, but with wide capacity ranges for the industrial world as well.

With the expansion of the gas compressor line with different applications and fields, Kobelco Machinery Asia Pte Ltd [KMA], a 100% subsidiary of Kobe Steel, Ltd, situated in Singapore was established in September 1999. Sales, after sales services, dispatching specialists for trouble-shooting, overhauling, and providence of technical services in south East Asia region are some of the services we provide to customers.

We supply all types of compressors, namely, screw, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors. Petrochemicals, chemicals, energy and gas industries are some of the various individual field applications wherein we undertake the responsibility of finding the optimal fit between these applications and compressors. The design and engineering of the required compressors are carried out in our Takasago works in Japan, therein, helping to minimize engineering charges for our customers.

Plastics Processing Machinery

From small scale compounding equipment to a large scale pelletizing system, Kobe Steel is one of the top-notch manufacturers, reputed for supplying high quality equipment to compounding and petrochemical plants globally. To date, Kobe Steel has supplied more than 200 units of pelletizing systems for the polylefins -Polyethylene [PE] and Polypropylene [PP] – processing plants worldwide. Our pelletizing systems, in particular, are reputable for their energy efficiency. This, coupled with the continuing development in the mixing technology, has enabled us to remain the preferred supplier of pelletizing systems.

There are 2 basic systems, depending on the process technology and the intended final product for the polyolefins application: the LCM-gear pump system and the LCM-extruder type system. The LCM-gear pump system is designed with a pair of fully intermeshed, counter-rotating mixing screws which is supported at both ends [hence more rigid], and a gear pump to provide the required pressure for extrusion. This is suitable for both PE and PP applications. The LCM system incorporates Kobe Steel’s unique design of tri-tip rotors which offer excellent mixing performance, thus making a superlative choice for HDPE products.

On the other hand, the LCM-EX system is designed to allow for a longer resident time, suiting the PP application well.

Regardless of application, the unique and patented design of the gate-system - when coupled with gear pump suction pressure – provides the versatility in controlling polymer processing temperatures, thus allowing the system to handle a wide product range.

In polymer compounding application, Kobe Steel has – based on the technologies and being in the know of the different product divisions – supplied a series of world class twin screw extruders. The new VCMT Rotor segments have enhanced their quality, while the mixing and extrusion technology allows the maximum output torque and speed of more than 1,000 rpm. This allows a wider operation range coupled with high quality production mixing.

The superior allow utilizing composite technology produces anti-corrosion and wear-resistant material for screws and barrels, allowing operation under an extremely abrasive and highly corrosive processing environment.

We take significant attention in providing technical support and after sales services for plastic machinery supplied to our end users. Furthermore, Kobe Steel has strategically located sales and after sales offices worldwide to increase efficiency of these services. Plastic Machinery Section of KMA is one of these offices, established to provide prompt and competent sales and service support in the South East Asian region.
